VOLUNTEER for A Better Place

Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in!!

We appreciate all of the volunteers who have generously given time throughout the year, but would love to see some new faces join us.

A Better Place is a volunteer activity for most ages and any skill level. 

Please consider volunteering.  You can volunteer as many or as few hours as you want.  

Do You have Community Service Obligations to fulfill??? Volunteer with us and fulfill your community service at the same time!!!

Volunteer activities may include: 

  • Foster a dog: Open your home to an animal in need (We always have a great need for more foster homes!! please apply to foster today to learn more)
  • Training animals
  • Cleaning
  • Maintenance
  • Fundraising
  • Participating in specials events/shows
  • Making phone calls/answering the phone
  • Taking care of emails
  • Data entry
  • Animal transportation
  • Walk/Play with the animals
  • putting up fencing and concrete block work
  • photograph the animals
  • grant writing
  • be a virtual volunteer: join our cause on Facebook or Myspace, virtual foster our dogs using the 'save a dog' app on Facebook, send a friend, Become a fan on Facebook, subscribe on YouTube, share our content, email a friend our dogs webpages, donate your tweets by adding @BetterPlaceResQ on twitter
  • Help raise funds: Create & share a fundraising page For A Better Place, Inc. at http://www.firstgiving.com/

Many volunteer hands are needed in New Boston, Michigan where we are working on construction of our Pet Education and Adoption Center.
